Zebec Network (ZBCN) Reports Shifting Payroll Beyond Technology, Schools and Healthcare

-

Zebec Network reports a notable shift in payroll adoption as education and healthcare organizations begin using its blockchain-based payroll infrastructure. Citing internal metrics and current usage patterns, Zebec CEO Simon Babakhani said in a recent interview that schools and healthcare firms are increasingly testing on-chain payroll for recurring payroll payments.

Schools and healthcare firms join the Zebec Payroll Network

Zebec’s payroll reports show that the platform processed $47 million in monthly payroll volume in November 2025. It takes care of 12,600 employees at 239 corporate customers. While adoption was once focused on technology firms and crypto-native firms, education and healthcare institutions now represent a major and growing usage segment, in keeping with Simon.

Aside from the expected tech firms and startups which have historically seen high adoption rates for cryptocurrencies, now we have also seen strong traction within the education and healthcare sectors.

Simon said within the interview.

He noted that these firms are likely to run predictable, recurring payroll cycles, making them a great fit for programmable payroll solutions.

The shift is consistent with broader institutional interest in stablecoin-based payouts and programmable value flows, which Zebec is working towards over the course of 2025.

Payroll rails expanded through NatPay and embedded wallets

Zebec rebuilt its payroll infrastructure earlier this yr with the mixing of NatPay into the Federal Reserve's FedNow network, enabling same-day payroll processing using standard ACH payroll files. The integration connects stablecoin-based on-chain settlements with traditional banking rails at greater than 8,500 US banks.

At the top of 2025, Zebec also integrated embedded wallet infrastructure through Privy, a Stripe-owned provider. The update supports email, SMS, passkeys and embedded identity onboarding. Users receive stablecoin payroll within the Zebec SuperApp wallet. Wallet balances may be spent or held and are linked to Zebec's virtual card offerings for real-world payments.

These card products – including Silver, Carbon and Black virtual cards – recorded greater than $60 million in annual transaction volume in November. Practically issued cards can be found in 97 countries. At Mastercard merchants, the cards also work with Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Simon's comments align with Zebec's broader strategy of layering compliance, payments and user accessibility. Earlier this yr, the corporate joined the Nacha Payments Innovation Alliance, positioning itself throughout the U.S. ACH payments rulemaking ecosystem because it prepares for ISO 20022-compliant messaging and expanded cross-rail interoperability in 2026.

Zebec has also partnered with digital bank Fasset to integrate regulated banking rails into its cross-border settlement stack. These developments come alongside efforts reminiscent of ZebecNET, a data-only eSIM network built with World Mobile to support reliable connectivity for payroll and payments in areas with inconsistent cellular infrastructure.

In summary, the product developments and acceptance signals indicate a mature use case set that extends beyond early adopters and into traditional business environments with recurring payroll needs.
