Jack Dorsey, a cryptocurrency entrepreneur and former CEO of Twitter, encourages Signal Messenger, Bitcoin for Peer-to-Peer payments (P2P), a step that would remove the crypto strategy of the platform from old coins.
“Signal should use Bitcoin for P2P payments,” wrote Dorsey on April 9 on X and replied to a contribution in accordance with Bitcoin developer Calle, which suggested that Bitcoin (BTC) suits perfectly for the private communication channel from Signal.

Dorsey's call to motion has been repeated by other industry leaders, including former PayPal President David Marcus, who wrote that “all non-transchangal apps should connect with Bitcoin”.
The notes reflect a growing advance of promoting Bitcoin as a functional payment system and not only digital gold or a pure value memory that – in accordance with Dorsey – is not going to make sure the success of BTC.
Signal offers payments at Sentz, formerly mobilecoin
Signal was founded in 2014 and is an open messaging service for immediate messages, language calls and video calls.
The Messenger currently offers in-app payments in MobileCoin (MTCN), an ERC 20 token, which was renamed in privacy, which was renamed Sevenz in November 2023.

Supported by top -class industry players comparable to Blocktower Capital and Coinbase Ventures and was founded in 2017 by Josh Goldbard and Shane Glyn to enable a “quick, private and simple -to -use cryptocurrency”.
The signal was under fire in 2021 through its mobile coin integration, with many concerns in regards to the potential relationships between signals founder and MTCN, which pronounced opacity in relation to its output and suspicious profits before the partnership was announced.
CoinTelegraph turned to the signal in relation to possible plans for the combination of Bitcoin, but had not received a solution to publication.
Social media apps have historically pressed old coins
The signal is way from driving Altcoin payments as a substitute of offering payments in Bitcoin which might be designed for P2P payments as a core application in accordance with the anonymous Creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
