Bitcoin's volatility appears to be decreasing, with moves in 2025 more muted than Nvidia's (NVDA), suggesting its investor base is diversifying, in keeping with Bitwise.
Bitwise said on Wednesday that Bitcoin (BTC) will proceed to be less volatile than Nvidia in 2026 as “Bitcoin volatility has steadily declined over the past decade.”
It added that the shift signals a “de-risking” of the asset as its investor base has diversified attributable to the emergence of institutional investment products.
“This shift reflects Bitcoin’s fundamental de-risking as an investment and the diversification of its investor base due to traditional investment vehicles similar to ETFs.”

Bitwise sets recent all-time high
Bitwise also made several bullish predictions for the approaching yr, including a brand new all-time high for Bitcoin and a breakout of the four-year cycle.
“Forces just like the Bitcoin halving, rate of interest cycles, and crypto booms and busts fueled by leverage are weaker than in past cycles,” it said.
It predicted that more traditional institutions similar to Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo and Merrill Lynch would move into cryptocurrencies, allocations to identify crypto exchange-traded funds would increase, and on-chain construction would speed up in 2026.
Finally, the regulatory shift in favor of cryptocurrencies will proceed to permit corporations to adopt cryptocurrencies more quickly, Bitwise said. It has also been predicted that crypto stocks will outperform technology stocks.
“Tech stocks have performed well over the past three years, up 140%, but crypto stocks are doing even higher.”
