A well -known maximum extractable value (MEV) White began actor around 2.6 million US dollars of crypto assets that were stolen from the decentralization protocol from Morpho Labs.
On April 10, Morpho Labs implemented a front-end update for his Morpho Blue application. A day later, a hacker injured an address by an vulnerability attributable to the update. Peckshield Peckshield, the blockchain security company, reported that an address lost 2.6 million US dollars because of the vulnerability.
However, the safety company stated that “C0ffeebabe.eth”, a widely known white Hut-Mev operator, effectively caught the transaction front and the stolen funds.
At the time of the letter, the funds had been transferred to a different item of the item. It is unclear whether the funds have to date been returned to their original owner.
Morpho Labs returns the front-end update
Morpho Labs reacted the front-end update on the incident. In a post on X on April 11, the team confirmed that it had been made aware of the issue and had rolled back the changes. The team also said that ordinary operations were resumed:
“All funds within the Morpho protocol are protected and untouched. The Morpho team will today provide an in depth update on this thread.”
After further investigations, the team confirmed that his front-end was protected and that users should not have to perform additional actions to secure their assets.
The team said the update was pushed to enhance the transaction flow. However, specific transactions on the front-end were made incorrectly. The Morpho Labs team said it identified the issue and applied an answer. They added that they might publish a more detailed explanation of the incident next week.
The Morpho Labs team put CINTELEGRAPH on X, but received no response from publication.
White hat Mev operator C0Feebabe.eth
C0FEFEEBABE.EHT is understood to be contributed to the restoration of funds at Defi -Hacks. In 2023, the White Hut -Mev operator called around 5.4 million US dollars in ether (ETH) from the Curve Finance Exploit in July 2023.
During the incident, C0fefebabe.eth offered one to arrange a malicious hacker to secure 3,000 ETH. The funds were then returned to the Curve deployer address.
In 2024, the mysterious white hat actor also repeated funds that were stolen through the Blueberry Exploit. In an update, the Defi protocol said that each one the drained funds from C0ffebabe.eth and returned.
