Eric Adams demands Bitcoin -Bond in NYC, ends Bitlicense

Eric Adams, Mayor of New York City, will be sure that a Bitcoin bond is initiated in the town and has renewed his call to the Bitlicense program from AX New York.

At the Bitcoin 2025 conference, Adams promised to represent and support the creation of municipal bonds supported by Bitcoin (BTC).

“We have financial instruments for all other bonds. You can have tax exemption bonds and other bonds. For the primary time within the history of this city to have a financial instrument that’s made for individuals who are owners of Bitcoin,” he said.

Adams didn’t share any details about how a Bitbond would work. However, a guidelines on March 31 from the Advocacy Group The Bitcoin Policy Institute proposed a model, which received an annual rate of interest of 1% for 10 years.
