300 Bitcoin number day of the Silk Road founder unlikely 'a self -donation' – ZachxBt

-

Ross Ulbricht's latest preservation of 300 Bitcoin comes from “questionable sources”, nevertheless it is unlikely that he donated it to himself, says Blockchain researcher ZachxBT.

Ulbricht, who founded Black Market's notorious online silk road, received 300 Bitcoin (BTC) value 31.4 million US dollars for his wallet, which requested donations, said Lookonchain on June 1st about X.

The funds got here from container pockets with a central mixed service called Jambler, who speculate some social media users without evidence that the technique of Ulbricht could possibly be gained from the Silk Road that he can have hidden before he was caught by the authorities and sent to prison.

However, Zachxbt said in a post dated June 2 that he was skeptical that this was the case because “only a number of entities usually use jamblers in size”, and he found “a possible dismantling for the donation”.

“It probably doesn't appear to be a self -donation because people claimed that it comes from questionable sources as a consequence of the marked address,” he said.

The latest Bitcoin donation got here from wallets with the Jambler -Mixing -Service, but in keeping with ZachxBT, “Using normal data protection -loving decentralized mixers”.

According to ZachxBT, considered one of the addresses involved had the exchange activity from the tip of 2014, while one other was lively in 2019 and was previously marked in compliance tools.

“Both were at Jambler at an analogous time when the 300 BTC Ross -Donor received from Jambler. Both had a dormant BTC from November 2019 to the Mixer deposits from April to May 2025,” he said.

In response to the request of a user, he added that “every horse accused of self -donation. If in any respect, this proves that it was a donation and never his secret hiding place because there was activity when he was in prison.”

Ulbricht-bound wallets still have Bitcoin

Ulbricht headed the Silk Road, which Bitcoin used for his payments, until 2013, when he was arrested in 2015 and sentenced to double life imprisonment. In 2015 he served 11 years behind bars before US President Donald Trump pardoned him on January 21.

Conor Grogan, director of Coinbase, said in January that he found 430 Bitcoin value over 45 million US dollars within the letters he claimed that were sure to Ulbricht. According to Grogan, the wallets have been inactive for over 13 years and have never been confiscated by the authorities.

The blockchain analytics company Arkham Intelligence supported Grogan's assessment and pursued 14 Bitcoin addresses related to a silk road.

Ulbricht recently organized an auction of non-public things that Bitcoin value greater than 1.8 million US dollars.

The collection included personal effects before its arrest from 2013, similar to: B. sleeping bag, backpack, memorabilia for drum and prison, similar to a castle, a notebook, clothing and a number of other paintings that were generated throughout the detention.
